How to install an email account on email clients

If you have created email accounts on your Plesk panel, you can add them to any email client, so that you can manage your emails via the client, without having to constantly log into your webmail service.

Through the email clients, you can manage your emails from your desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone and you are able to add more than one email accounts. Some of the most popular email clients are Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail and Mac Mail.

You can add an email account in POP3 or in IMAP.
POP3 (Post Office Protocol Version 3): In this case, you can save your sent and received emails to your computer or hard disk, and there will be no copy saved on the server, unless you wish so. You can set this via the settings of the email client that you use.

IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol): In this case, all emails are always saved automatically on the mail server and you can download them on more than one devices.

The general settings in order to add an email account to a email client are the following:
1. As email address insert e.g. info@yourdomain.gr and as password the one you chose when you created your email account in Plesk.
2. Press Continue and you will be able to choose between POP3 and IMAP settings. Select POP3.
3. The mail servers of your incoming and outgoing mail are mail.yourdomain.gr or alternatively the IP address of your server, which you can find in the activation email of your hosting plan. The form of it should be like 85.25.76.139.
4. Wherever a username is requested, insert your complete email address that you have created in Plesk, e.g. info@yourdomain.gr
5. In the server settings for the incoming mail, the port should be 110 and the type of security none.
6. Activate the SMTP Authentication. You can find the instructions:
