What does DNS, A, CNAME and MX records mean?

Domain Name System (Domain Name System) or (Domain Name Service) is a database that converts numeric Internet addresses into textual addresses that make it easier for the user to remember the name than a set of numbers. For example, the user remembers www.top.host more easily than 85.25.76.139

You can manage the DNS Records through the Server management environment (Plesk Parallels Panel)

1.Log in to myTophost Panel and from there select Plesk Login to log in to the Plesk of the package you are interested in.

2. On the Websites & Domains tab, select DNS Settings

The A record (A record) or Address record defines which IP address corresponds to a domain name. What the A record does is translate the namespace into a numeric address. For example the A record of the top.host namespace is 85.25.76.139

The Cname record (Canonical Name record) associates the true canonical name with alias names used by the computer itself. For example the Cname record of top.host might be www.top.host

The MX record (Mail Exchanger Record) concerns only our mail service and allows us to redirect emails sent to our domain accounts to any mail server we want. For example the MX record of the domain name www.top.host is mail.top.host

3. The above records can be viewed and edited through Plesk's DNS Settings.
